Celebrating design: 100 years of Verner Panton
Celebrating a visionary
In 2026, we celebrate 100 years of Verner Panton – the Danish architect and designer who forever changed the way we think about furniture, colour, and space. As one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, he challenged conventions and transformed interiors into places full of emotion and experience. His designs still feel fresh today – proof of the timelessness of his ideas.

Design DNA
Panton’s design language was defined by bold colours, soft curves, and futuristic shapes. Rather than using classic wood or natural materials, he turned to plastic and chrome, shaping them into organic silhouettes. For him, colour wasn’t just decorative – it was a central design tool.
Louis Poulsen - Panthella: Bringing Back the Originals
Louis Poulsen and Verner Panton shared a long-standing partnership. In the early 1970s, they created Panthella, an icon of Scandinavian design. Its soft hemispherical shape and gently diffused light reflect Panton’s mastery of colour and space. Now the original is back: in five vibrant colours and with a chrome-finished base – a tribute to his vision, nostalgic and contemporary at once.

Verpan – Iconic shapes & portable classics
At Verpan, Panton’s designs live on in their original form – with iconic silhouettes and the signature combinations of chrome and expressive colour, as seen in the Wire lamp. The portable models in particular – especially the Pantop – bring Panton’s design philosophy into everyday life: flexible, functional, and a confident statement in any space.
Montana - the Wire System
Panton’s collaboration with Montana resulted in one of the most subtle yet influential furniture concepts of his time: the Panton Wire System. Modular shelves and room dividers were crafted from thin, chrome-plated wire, combining functionality with sculptural clarity. The reflective surfaces play with light and colour – an expression of his philosophy of lightness and precision, which continues to shape modern interiors today.
